2021 – Mindful Mushkins is founded – Isabelle brings the Mushkins to life after years of teaching emotional literacy across the globe.

2022

Our first podcast airs, council funding supports our programs, and hundreds of children meet the Mushkins for the first time. Isabelle becomes a mum, deepening her passion for early childhood wellbeing.

2024

 We launch our first three picture books, now sold worldwide. Our programs and resources have now reached and educated over 3,000 children across Australia.

2023

We expand our SEL programs to include professional development for educators, parent seminars, and transition workshops. Mindful Mushkins is officially Department of Education and Training (DET) accredited. Isabelle is nominated for the Mumpreneur Awards.

2025

Our digital resource library booms, with card decks, posters, yoga tools, and classroom kits now supporting social-emotional learning in homes and schools nationwide.

Mindful Mushkins is dedicated to helping children explore their emotions, develop resilience, and build meaningful connections with others. Through beautifully illustrated storybooks, hands-on workshops, and playful wellbeing resources, we make social-emotional learning engaging and accessible for families, educators, and communities.

Our work is grounded in the belief that emotional skills are life skills, tools every child deserves as they grow into confident, compassionate individuals who shape a kinder future.

Wises, calm and full of stories, Elder Mushkin helps children understand all emotions, even the big ones. He teaches that every feeling has something important to say.

Rae Mushkin

Quiet and thoughtful, Rig enjoys cosy spaces and calming places. He teaches children how to shape their surroundings to feel safe, happy and in control.

Creative and unique, Jingle loves music, art and staying true to himself. He shows children how to stand strong in their values, even when others think differently.

Pud is a cheerful, slightly messy baker who loves treats and hosting celebrations. She helps children learn from mistakes and reminds them that growth can be joyful (and sticky!).

Fizzball is a big dreamer with his head in the clouds. He helps children discover what makes them feel alive, find meaning and make a difference in their world.

Rae is a true ray of sunshine who loves to twirl, dance and sparkle! She helps children tune into their thoughts and talk kindly to their brains, even on the tricky days.

Gentle and caring, Spirit loves nature, animals and connecting with others. He teaches children how to be a good friend, especially when someone needs support.

Carol Ryff’s Framework is a research-based model that helps us understand what it means to truly feel well, not just happy, but strong, balanced, and full of purpose.

She identified six key areas of wellbeing that help us grow into healthy, confident, and connected humans. These areas aren’t about always feeling good they’re about developing the inner tools to cope, thrive, and live meaningfully
