Little Steps, Big Leaps is a playful, practical workshop designed to help children navigate key life transitions whether it’s starting primary school or stepping into high school. Through creative group challenges and reflective activities, children build resilience, explore their feelings about change, and develop simple tools to feel more prepared and empowered. This high-energy, hands-on session normalises nerves, celebrates growth, and offers real strategies to support emotional regulation and self-belief during times of uncertainty. What We Explore Through movement, teamwork, and guided discussion, children: 😌 Reflect on feelings about change and uncertainty, learning how to recognise and name them. 📝 Practise prioritising and preparing using simple checklists, scenario cards, and group discussion. 🧩 Take part in STEM team challenges to practise flexible thinking and collaboration under pressure. 🎨 Engage in blindfolded art to build trust, manage uncertainty, and experience creative problem-solving. 🗿 Create “future self” sculptures, expressing hopes, worries, and strengths they’ll bring with them. 🧘 Explore realistic expectations and develop self-regulation tools for when things feel new or overwhelming. What Children Grow Each activity supports the development of: 🌱 Adaptability – Learning how to stay steady when the environment or routine changes
